Teaching

I began working with analog photography in 2018 with a second-hand Canonet QL 19, learning through manuals, PDFs, and online videos. Over time, I developed an interest in experimental film processes, discovering techniques like “Film Soup,” which has been central to my practice since 2020.

Since then, I’ve expanded into camera-less photography, Phytogram, Lumen Print, Chemigram, and Cyanotype, and cinema with Super 8 and 16mm film. Gradually, I learned through experimentation and developed ways to make experimental analog processes more approachable.

I aim to make these processes more accessible and sustainable through workshops, courses, lectures, and mentorships that merge theory, practice, and experimentation. I have taught both in person and online, sharing knowledge with students from Brazil, Peru, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Germany, Taiwan, and Yemen.

Art education allows me to take my work beyond the gallery and contribute to participants’ artistic practices. Through dialogue, curiosity, and collective learning, we discover new ways of seeing and growing together.

Cameraless Photography: Experiments with Photo Paper and Negatives

Santa Fe Workshops

October 14 – November 18, 2026

Wednesdays; 5:30 – 8:00 pm (Mountain Time)

Cameraless photography offers an exciting way to create photographic images using only light, chemistry, and everyday materials. In this workshop, we’ll explore alternative processes such as phytograms, lumen prints, and chemigrams, transforming plants, photographic paper, and simple household materials into unique works of art. Through guided exercises, weekly prompts, adaptations, and feedback tailored to each student’s interests, we’ll nurture an experimental and multidisciplinary approach to image-making.

This class is suited for anyone interested in exploring photography beyond the camera through accessible, low-cost, and sustainable methods. Working from home, participants will experiment with sunlight, organic materials, photographic paper, and chemistry to create images that embrace chance, materiality, and creative discovery.

Please note: Students will receive a list of easy-to-obtain materials needed for the class upon registration.
