I teach both online and in person, working with students from around the world, including Brazil, Peru, the United States, Canada, the UK, Portugal, Germany, Taiwan, and Yemen.

With experience in developing and leading short courses and workshops, I explore both the theory and practice of alternative photographic processes.

My classes emphasize experimentation and creativity, offering students a hands-on understanding of techniques within their historical and contemporary contexts.

Experimental Photography: Film Soup and 35mm Interventions

January 14 - February 18, 2026, Wednesdays; 5:00 – 7:00 pm | Santa Fe Workshops

What happens when you let chemistry, chance, and curiosity take over your film? In this online workshop, Brazilian visual artist Daura Campos guides you through Film Soup and other hands-on interventions with 35mm negatives. You’ll learn how to alter film using everyday materials like lemon juice, salt, or ink, as well as techniques such as scratching, bleaching, hand-coloring, drawing, and collage. Found or previously shot negatives can be used, offering flexibility and creative freedom.

Across five sessions, you’ll explore materials and safe practices, work through live demos and group discussions, and complete a series of experimental works—culminating in a final piece or small series. This is a space to take risks, reimagine the photographic process, and embrace the beauty of the unexpected.
